#mood / Two and a half mounts ago I was riding 🏍 across country with a bulge disc in my lower back in a lot of pain. When I got back I thought I wouldn’t be able to ride for a long time. I did take about a month off from riding but since the trip I’ve changed my eating habits, had a lot of chiropractor visits, done tons of at home physical therapy, a lot of walking and time at the gym. I now ride with a lower back brace, stand up more and do my best to sit up straight while riding. I would say I’m 70% better and for now the weekend adventures continues along with rehab. Ride like there is no tomorrow, ride like you’re young… just ride! I think I’ve rode somewhere between 48,000 or 52,000 miles in the last three years and enjoyed every second. Currently dealing with my first serious body injury (bulge disc L5 on the S1 nerve) in my lower back and it sucks! Still, I’m grateful for the past adventures and using this time to get my 🍑 in shape. This photo was taken 3 days before I started my cross country trip in October. I really hope my back heals as I have more BDR and desert racing goals! For now, one day at a time and work on being present. Hang in there humans!
